Since 1987, Jerry Bryant the host of JBTV has been on a mission to deliver anti-impaired driving messages to all adults especially hard to reach young adults with the help of world-renowned musicians and breaking bands. Jerry believes that everyone of legal drinking age has the right to enjoy a good time with alcohol and at the same time be responsible and keep America’s roads safe by not driving impaired. Bryant has worked with road safety advocate Marti Belluschi from day one, when not many were as cautiously concerned about the dangers of impaired driving. The two have carried on the tradition for over 25 years reminding adults to drive safe and include messages about putting mobile devices down while operating a motor vehicle.
Marti was 15 years old when a drunk driver struck her car head-on at 90 mph. She has worked on traffic safety issues, particularly impaired driving prevention, since 1985 when she volunteered to help with a new Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) organization in Illinois. She has participated in a variety of traffic safety programs and presentations including work with the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists (AAIM).
Marti says, “Bar none, Jerry Bryant produces the most entertaining program while communicating positive messages about not driving impaired. What he’s done really makes a difference by reaching young adults and adults, with messages communicated by musicians, that they are more likely to follow.”
Greg Corner, Music Director for JBTV curated a show that is packed with hits as well as special iconic live performances from the JBTV archives dating back 30 years. “The biggest challenge was editing the list of bands. There were so many bands that I love, and music that really hasn’t been seen or heard by many people. I wanted to showcase the new bands and the sounds that are influencing the radio charts. We landed on an incredible lineup and the work is extraordinary,” says Corner.
