JBTV TAKES OVER TV SIGNAL FOR HOLIDAY WEEKEND
CHICAGO – July 1st, 2016
This Friday, July 1st at 4:00pm, JBTV began aweekend-long “pop-up” broadcast runningthrough the Independence Day weekend. Television audiences can find the limited edition marathon on the digital channel 24.7, a sub-channel of WPVN-TV. The special edition showcase consists of non-stop, commercial-free content straight from America’s longest running music television program.
Created by Jerry Bryant in 1984, JBTV is dedicated to breaking new, local, independent, rock, and alternative music and artists.
Throughout its existence, JBTV has broadcasted over 9,680 episodes of musical artists, and Bryant intends to show as many of them as possible viathe brief spot on 24.7 available through the end of the Fourth of July holiday.
According to Bryant, “I hope someone tunes into the station to see what I’ve been doing 20 hours a day, 365 days a year in making these TV shows with the passion of making people happy… and music is the bond to do that! Tune in all weekend on Chicago’s first POP UP TV station.”
When not taking over a TV signal, JBTV also broadcasts episodes each Saturday night at 1:00am on WJYS-TV 62.1, with a repeat airing on Wednesday nights at 11:30pm on WJYS-TV’s digital sub-channel 62.3. The national version of JBTV is shown on TUFF TV each Monday-Friday from 4:00pm-5:00pm, as well as on Saturdays at 6:00pm and Sundays at 7:00pm. TUFF TV airs in Chicago on WPVN-TV 24.3. Additionally, content is available 24/7 through the live stream on the home page of the JBTV website.
