To conclude their intimate set at JBTV Studios, X Ambassadors covered I Was Young When I Left Home by the legendary Bob Dylan. A duet between lead singer Sam Harris and guitarist Noah Feldshuh, the track transcended the audience with good vibes felt by all.

From Ithaca, New York, X Ambassadors has a lengthy history. The band consists of brothers Sam (vocals, guitar, saxophone) and Casey Harris (keyboard), along with childhood bestie Noah Feldshuh (guitar) and college friend Adam Levin (drums). X Ambassadors defies typical genre restrictions, creating a patchwork of acoustic and electric sounds. In 2009, the group released their first EP “Ambassadors.” After signing with Alex Da Kid’s label KIDinaKORNER through Interscope Records, they quickly released two additional EPs titled “Love Songs Drug Songs” and “The Reason” respectively. In 2015, X Ambassadors released their first full-length album “VHS.” The twenty track record includes several interludes of home-video audio clips, drawing on heavy influences from their past and reflecting on their musical journey thus far.

Check out the lyrics to this classic song below:

I was young when I left home
But I been a-ramblin’ ‘round
And I never wrote a letter to my home
To my home, Lord Lord, letter to my home
And I never wrote a letter to my home

It was just the other day
I was bringing home my pay
When I met an old friend I used to know

Said your mother’s dead and gone
Baby sister’s all gone wrong
And your daddy needs you home right away

Not a shirt on my back
Not a penny on my name
Well I can’t go home thisaway
Thisaway, Lord, Lord,
Home thisaway
And I can’t go home thisaway

If you miss the train I’m on
Count the days I’m gone
You will hear that whistle blow a hundred miles
A hundred miles, honey baby. Lord Lord Lord
And you’ll hear that whistle blow a hundred miles

I don’t like it in the wind
Wanna go back home again
But I can’t go home thisaway
Thisaway, Lord Lord
Home thisaway
And I can’t go home thisaway

I was young when I left home
And I been out rambling ‘round
And I never wrote a letter to my home
To my home, Lord Lord
Letter to my home
And I never wrote a letter to my home
